Bacigalupi 2021 Zinfandel Estate Russian River Valley 65th Anniversary 95 Points

FMW 95 Points: “The 2021 Bacigalupi Zin is a very complex and drinkable wine showcasing its typical, spicy flavors and lush character all in medium to full-body.  On the nose, you are greetings bright blue and black stone fruit, with a touch of leather, black peppercorn, and anise. The wine crescendos into a nice long and spicy finish.  Very well-balanced and crowd-pleasing wine. The vineyard was planted in the early to mid 1920s, so very mature old vines!”

Winemaker Notes: “2021 was a beautiful yet challenging vintage. With very low rainfall, we entered into the growing season about 2 weeks earlier than normal. Summer temperatures were warm but consistent. Our crop size was very low but this led to high quality and concentration which is expressed in this vintage.”

Tasting Notes: “This wine is stunning. Aromas of bright red berries, raspberry, strawberry, with tons of floral notes to accompany it. The palate is so beautiful and pleasing with a mix of warm and jammy fruit tones. Just all around delicious and well-balanced.”
