Shipping rates vary depending on the quantity of wine purchase, the state you are shipping to, the speed of service that you request (ie: overnight, 2 or 3 day, ground) and whether you are shipping to a residence or business.

During checkout you will have the option to select your shipping preferences and view the shipping costs for your order before paying.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Paypal for online orders.

Orders are usually processed within one business day. We only ship on Monday & Tuesday unless it is very hot, in which case your shipment will be held until it is safe to avoid damage to your wine.

We offer to store your (paid) wines at NO-CHARGE in our temperature controlled warehouse when temperatures are too high or too low, and ship at a later date.

Please check your email for updates from us regarding shipping and temperature holds on your order. Ask us about temperature controlled shipping options available in some areas.

Once your package is shipped, you will receive a confirmation email from UPS QUANTUM VIEW with tracking and delivery information.

We recommend adding pkginfo@ups.com , frank@goldengatewinecellars.com , and newsletter@goldengatewinecellars.com to your address book or “safe senders” list.

Depending on the service you requested, usually Next Day Service is 1 day, Two Day Service is 2 days, and Three Day Service is 3 days. Ground Service varies depending on the destination. Ground shipping from San Francisco to the East Coast generally takes 5-6 days.

These times are estimates in perfect conditions. UPS and Golden Gate Wine Cellars are not responsible for weather related issues, “acts of God”, and other matters that are out of our control.

Please check your tracking number on the UPS website for up-to-date information on your shipment’s status.

Yes, an adult signature is required to receive the shipment.

If no one is at home to sign for the package UPS will leave a notice and re-attempt delivery the following day. In some instances your package will be delivered to a local Access Point or UPS store where you can pick it up.

If no one can be at home during the day to sign for the delivery, sign up for UPS My Choice. This gives you opportunities to forward, hold, or re-deliver your packages.

If you need to change the delivery address after your order has been processed, please sign up for UPS My Choice. This allows you change the destination address, forward, hold, or re-deliver your packages.

In some cases we can process a destination change for you but UPS will charge a fee for this change.

We ship domestically by UPS, they deliver Monday – Friday and in some areas on Saturday as well

We ship internationally to select countries where shipment of alcohol is permitted.

International orders cannot be processed on our website, but we will process them in-house. Please call us at 415-337-4083 for more information

You are responsible for all legal compliance, taxes, duties, fees, etc that may arise in the course of international purchases and shipments. Golden Gate Wine Cellars is not responsible for shipments that may be confiscated or held-up in customs.
