Striking minerality lays the base for cardamom, dried herbs, warm cedar, and iron-driven earth. Young tannins allow a midline drive and hint at future power. Delightful now, this holds gripping potential.”

FMW 95 Points: “The 2022 Spottswoode Lyndenhurst Cabernet showcases a dark purple hue. On the nose, you are greeted by bright Cabernet notes of black stone fruits, dark chocolate, a hint of floral spices, licorice, and vanilla tones. This youngster is lush, rich, full-bodied, and extremely elegant.  This wine has a long finish of fine-grained tannins.  I suggest decanting it for a good 90 minutes.  The 2022 Lyndenhurst will cellar well for a good 10-15 years.”

TWI “Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2022 Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon prances out with opulent notes of powdered cinnamon, sandalwood, and potpourri, giving way to a core of crème de cassis, candied violets, and mint tea. The medium-bodied palate coats the mouth with black fruit preserves and exotic spices flavors, framed by a racy line and lightly chewy tannins, finishing with a minty kick.”

The 2022 Spottswoode Lyndenhurst Cabernet is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Malbec.
