“Site” is a venture from Jeremy Weintraub (longtime Seavey winemaker). He sources from the best “Sites” in California. This latest Grenache is just a good example. The 2017 Site is sourced from the Larner Vineyard. The Larner Vineyard would be considered a “Grand Cru” if it was located in France.

Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points: “The 2018 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyards was mostly destemmed (90%) and spent 18 months in 50% new French oak. It’s another inky hued effort that brings both richness and elegance. Lots of darker, briny fruits, smoked game, and black pepper notes give way to a medium to full-bodied wine that has silky yet present tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It’s going to evolve for 15 years or more.”
Winemaker Notes: “All Syrah from the same rows of Z Block that I’ve been getting for years, this wine has an electrifying color and offers abundant aromatics of bacon fat, blackberries, black pepper, chocolate and lavender. The mouth is medium-bodied, silky and carries great acidity through the long finish.”
