Points James Suckling “The aromatics of this wine are stunning, offering black cherries, blackcurrants, lead pencil, spearmint, and Spanish cedar. and wild roses. It’s medium-bodied and it starts slowly on the palate and then takes off with muscular tension. Nicely chewy, toned and firm. Goes on for minutes. Flexing and showing its propensity for longevity. Rock on. Best after 2028 and beyond.”
FMW 100 Points: “The Wine has a deep garnet-purple color with intense aromatics jumping out the glass – bold and vivacious black cherries, black raspberries, and plum preserves notes plus wafts of red currants, garrigue, menthol, pencil shavings, and wild sage. The wine is full-bodied, the palate has lovely freshness and soft tannins supporting the red and black fruit layers, finishing with long fine-grained tannins and a minty kick.”
Jeb Dunnuck 98 Points:” While I wasn’t able to taste the 2021s, the 2022s from Screaming Eagle are undeniable successes. Tasted from multiple barrels, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is medium to full-bodied, richness, with beautiful purity of fruit and ripe, building tannins, as well as a good spine of acidity. This estate did an incredible selection, and it certainly shows in all the samples I was able to taste.”
