Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points: “The 2022 Letters to Europe is based on equal parts Grenache and Syrah and was completely destemmed and saw 20 months in a combination of concrete and 50% new barrels. Its translucent ruby hue is followed by a pretty, floral, delicate wine that has ample strawberry and raspberry-like fruit, some floral, spicy nuances, a medium body, and a graceful mouthfeel. The Syrah comes through with air, it has some meaty, bacon fat nuances, and it’s just such a joy to drink. It needs a decant if drinking any time soon, and I see no reason it shouldn’t evolve gracefully for 10-12 years, although I love its vibrant fruit today..”
Paul Lato Notes: “This 2022 version of Letters to Europe is a perfect marriage of elegance and power. Exuberant, youthful yet full of energy, Letters to Europe opens with vanilla notes and pancetta, then seamlessly transitions to black cherries, ground pepper, leather, and spice on the palate. This perfectly balanced, silky, medium-bodied wine has incredible intensity, and it carries soft, ripe, integrated tannins all the way through the long finish. This may be the best Letters to Europe blend that we have ever made! Only 50 cases were produced. “
