James Suckling 98 Points: “Perhaps the nerviest, stoniest chardonnay from the rightly famous Hyde Vineyard, this wine is compact, concentrated, and potentially age-worthy. Subtle apple skin, mineral, butterscotch, and Bosc pear flavors combine on an almost steely palate of good acidity and a medium body. It keeps opening up in the glass and revealing more on the palate and lingering finish. Only the second vintage from this new producer. Drinkable now, but best from 2028.
TWI 97 Points: “The 2022 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard, bottled in December 2023, rolls out of the glass with expressive notes of baking bread, sea spray, and marzipan giving way to a core of apple butter, spiced pears, and green guava. The medium to full-bodied palate has a gorgeous satiny texture, with seamless freshness supporting the intense apple and pear flavors, finishing long and savory.”
Winemaker Notes: “The 2022 Nid Tissé Chardonnay is a delightful expression of its vintage, exuding elegance and charm. This Chardonnay shines with a pale, straw-gold color, hinting at its refined nature. On the nose, it presents a captivating bouquet of fresh citrus blossoms, green apples, and ripe peach, accented by subtle notes of honeysuckle and a touch of vanilla. The palate is greeted with a harmonious blend of bright acidity and creamy texture, revealing flavors of juicy pear, lemon curd, and a whisper of butterscotch. The finish is long and smooth, with a delicate minerality that adds an extra layer of sophistication. The 2022 Nid Tissé Chardonnay is a beautifully balanced wine, perfect for those seeking a fresh and elegant white wine experience.”
