Captain Heidi Barrett Notes: “The 2022 Pirate is deep ruby in color, with enticing aromas of blackberry pie, black cherry, and plum, with a touch of earthiness. It is black fruit-driven, with some toasty French oak enhancements and nice layering of the blend components. Flavors are big and bold – dense blackberry-type fruit and some savory notes across the palate remind me of a GSM
blend with hints of Chinese 5-spice, cranberry, and a touch of vanilla. Really nice length and balance in this fun red
blend.“

Tasting Notes: The 2022 Pirate TreasuRed is very dark ruby in color with deep, ripe aromas of primarily black fruits – black cherry and wild blackberry, with nuances of vanilla, fruitcake, mocha, and a touch of savory smoked meat. Nicely layered fruit flavors with a plush, textural mouthfeel and good length. The tannins are moderate and silky, and the French oak is subtle and well-integrated. The overall impression is a big, voluptuous, balanced mouthful of delicious flavors. 2022 made wines of great concentration and very good ageability. Delectable & ready to enjoy upon release.

The 2022 La Sirena Priate TreasuRed is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Petite Sirah. 

Suggested pairings: BBQ ribs, pulled pork, jerk chicken, wood-fired pizza, hearty red sauce, brisket, gourmet burgers, chorizo/spicy sausage, and many others – quite a versatile wine.
