Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, The Wine Palate / TWI 95 Points: “Medium to deep ruby purple colored, the 2023 Wester Reach Pinot Noir soars with intense notes of black raspberries, freshly crushed black cherries, and spearmint, leading to hints of violets and charcoal. The medium to full-bodied palate is plush and bright with bags of blackberry flavors and a fine-grained texture, finishing with great length and a refreshing lift.”

Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points: “Taking on a darker ruby hue, the Pinot Noir Wester Reach brings forward woodsy spice aromas, with notes of fresh cherries, pine, and peppery spices. Approachable on the palate, it offers ripe tannins, a supple texture, and a nice lift of freshness on the finish. It is a charmer for sure and is going to offer a wide drinking window over the coming 10-12 years. Bottled unfiltered.”

Wine Spectator 94 Points: “Bursts with juicy raspberry, mulberry and bitter cherry coulis flavors that stretch out lengthily, plus savory, red tea and rose petal notes that add energy and range. Shows a snap of red licorice and a singed apple wood frame on the finish while keeping its energy up. Best from 2026 through 2036.”

Winemaker Notes: “Highly perfumed aromas blend fresh summer berry notes with anise, pine needle, and dark cherry. The style is pure and fresh with lovely lift and floral spice. The wine’s flavors are bright yet dark and really draw you in: Bing cherry, then wild blackberry, orange zest, and cardamom. The palate becomes broad and layered with understated, elegant power and fine lacy tannins supported by a fresh line of crunchy acidity. The long finish is pure, fruity, and energetic. Drink between 2025 and 2035.”
