FMW 97+ Points: “I would say that is the THE BEST Isobel, ever. The wine kicks off with intense aromatics of peaches, lemons, and a whiff of vanilla. On the palate, this wine offers up a lush, full, intense yet extremely elegant, and flavorful body that is laced with gorgeous fruit, a hint of minerality, and a silky, oily texture with the right balance of fruit and acid ratio. The wine reminds me of a top-notch White Burgundy (at a lower price). This 20th vintage from the Charles Heintz vineyard is one for the books!
Jeb Dunnuck 96+ Points: “A bright straw yellow hue, the 2022 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard Isobel has a pretty and expressive nose of ripe pear, flinty lift, candied green apples, and lime. Savory and inviting, the palate offers medium to full body but has great persistence on its long finish. This wine provided a remarkable start to my tasting of these wines from DuMOL. Drink 2024-2036..”
TWI (Lisa Perotti-Brown) 96 Points: “The 2022 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard Isobel shimmies out with energetic notes of lemon tart, juicy grapefruit, and yuzu followed by hints of lime blossom and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant and refreshing, with a crisp backbone and long minerally finish.”
Winery Notes: “White flowers, sharp flint, lemongrass, and mint combine on an edgy tense aromatic stage. There’s lime juice, chamomile, and an edge of guava. The palate is immediately deep and intense with briny citrus oil and steely drive opening to richer exotic fruits. Penetrating minerals fill the mouth and layers emerge. Tense acidity cuts the richness with grapefruit and tangerine intensity. Serve at 55F and drink between late 2024 and 2029.”
