Russell Bevan Notes: “From a great valley floor site in Oakville that lies below the wooded hills of the Mayacamas Mountain Range, this wine shows a deep sense of place. Notes of lively blue fruits, boysenberry, graphite and toasty oak all leap from the glass. An opulent and full-bodied wine, it shows ideal balance on the palate – a mixture of great fruit, tannins, and natural acidity that results in a lengthy finish with a savory quality.”
IWR 96 Points: “The 2022 Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Cabernet from Carter Cellars offers aromas of blackberries and Luxardo cherries, which are woven together with herbs, exotic spices, vanilla bean, dusty graphite and underlying hints of espresso all emerge from the glass. The palate is full-bodied and incredibly concentrated with excellent depth. This continues to impress with its rich and layered mouthfeel, backed by gorgeous big, polished tannins that frame the core of ripe dark fruits and exotic spices. Everything comes together beautifully as it heads into the long, opulent finish. This really comes to life with a bit of time in the glass to unwind. Overall a fantastic wine from Carter Cellars.
