The Story: Now in its sixteenth vintage, Chaos Theory began as a one-off blend of cabernet sauvignon and zinfandel that David Dappen created for the first participation in the annual Premiere Napa Valley trade auction. It made such a splash that he went back to the cellar to dial in the details so we could make it a permanent part of our lineup. Chaos Theory echoes our journey through the world of wine, consistently proving that the best is yet to come, there’s always something to look forward to, and no matter how random or chaotic things may seem amidst the mystery there is method and meaning to all that we do and experience. Simply put, all’s well that ends well!
Winery Notes: “The 2021 Chaos Theory has a dark garnet core with a ruby rim and an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, dark cherry, plum, and licorice. Secondary notes of leather, toasted marshmallow, wild herbs, and florals, followed by hints of caramel apple, Asian spices, heavy cream, tobacco, and cocoa nibs. On the palate, it is ripe, savory, and concentrated with silky mouthfeel, zesty acidity, and sweet tannins.”
Blend: 50% Zinfandel, 40% Primitivo, 5% Petite Sirah, 5% Tempranillo
