Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points (2021): “A blockbuster of a Sauvignon Blanc, Bevan’s 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Dry Stack Vineyard comes from an Italian clone planted in gravelly soil in the Bennett Valley and is raised, I believe, in the barrel. Bottled unfiltered so it has a touch of haziness in its gold hue, it offers a heavenly bouquet of caramelized lemon zest, mint, orange blossom, honeyed flowers, and brioche. Rich, full-bodied, and opulent, it has incredible concentration, a layered, pure mouthfeel, good freshness, and a finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s not for those craving lightweight aromas and flavors and has the weight and richness of a great Chardonnay. Drink this beauty over the coming 2-3 years.”
Russell Bevan Notes: “Gold…pure gold in a glass. This year’s Dry Stack stands apart from previous vintages in its sophistication. It highlights the aromatic characteristics and mouth-watering flavors while staying true to the rich, expressive, bold style of winemaking. Notes of bosc pears, melon, and fresh Meyer lemon balance the dazzling acidity. Minimal French oak influence on the wine offers a hint of fresh cedar and shortbread on the finish. This wine screams for grilled figs with goat cheese, drizzled in orange blossom honey.”
Tasting Notes: Lively and richly textured Sauvignon Blanc delivers flavors of passion fruit, pineapple, and hints of vanilla. The interplay between the upfront roundness and the energetically crisp finish is fascinating, making this wine distinctive and elegant. UNFILTERED & UNFINED.
