Toymaker 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 99 Points

$349.99

TWI 99 Points: “The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of black cherries, blackberries, and blackcurrant jelly spill from the glass, followed by an evocative perfume of black raspberries, red roses, lavender, and cinnamon sticks. The full-bodied palate is taut with muscular, intense fruit, framed by firm, finely-grained tannins and just enough tension, finishing long and graceful. This tiny production (195 cases) of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is made by the very talented Martha McClellan (who also makes Sloan) and it is simply gorgeous!”

Pisoni 2021 Estate Chardonnay, Santa Lucia Highlands 96+ Points

$94.99

Jeb Dunnuck 96+ Points: “Another brilliant wine from this family, the 2021 Chardonnay comes all from the estate Pisoni Vineyard in the southern part of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Unfortunately, it’s made in tiny quantities, but I consistently think it ranks with the finest Chardonnay in California. Honeyed lemon, pear, flowers, crushed stone, and a beautiful kiss of toasted walnuts define the aromatics, and it’s medium-bodied, vibrant, and elegant, with a liquid rock-like sense of minerality on the finish. It plays in the more elegant, focused, lengthy style of the vintage and is slightly closed and tight at present. Give bottles another 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy through 2031. It’s a beautiful Chardonnay.”

Rocket Science by Caldwell 2021 Proprietary Red Napa Valley

$79.99

Winemaker Notes: “The only sure way to know you’ve got a supernova in your sights is to do a diagnostic… fragrant spices, explosive fruit, finish like a long-tail comet… check. This high-octane vintage draws you in with inviting aromas of raspberry, plum, anise, and rose petals lighting up the red spectrum. Cocoa, leather, and fresh black tea fill in the darker side. Fluid dynamics take over with a full-throttle cherry attack. Mellow, sweet tannins carry the day while this wine’s long, pomegranate finish streaks across the sky with nothing to stop it but another sip.”

Anthony Galloni – Vinous 93 Points:  “The 2018 Red Wine Columbia Valley combines Syrah (70%) with Grenache (30%). The palate is wonderfully stony with bright red fruits that mingle with orange rind, umami, and pretty pomegranate seed flavors. The salty accents really make this sing. “

Cobb 2018 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch “Swan and Calera” Selection” 97 Points

$95.00

Robert Parker 97 Points: “The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch Swan & Calera Selection is scented of red cherries and cranberries with tones of bitter citrus, tobacco leaves, dried flowers and Angostura bitters. Light-bodied, silty and incredibly fresh, its slim frame holds a surprising amount of pure, crunchy fruits, and it finishes with tremendous length and spicy layers. The Swan clone fruit included in this cuvée comes from vines planted in 1995, and the Calera clones were planted in 2011. It’s another 2018 from the Cobb portfolio that offers both ageability and immediate appeal.”

Hendry 2018 Bordeaux Blend “Red” Estate Napa Valley 95 Points

$49.99

FMW 95 Points: “Dazzling black stone fruit and chocolate aromas jump out of the glass on impact.   This Bordeaux blend offers deep dark color, with intense aromatics and concentration. The fruit is 100%  sourced from the Hendry Estate in the Napa Valley.  This Cabernet-based blend is concentrated, powerful, yet silky smooth, with a lush and creamy texture on the mid-palate offering up cacao, blueberries, and anise flavors, and its loaded flavors show intense depth,  that leads to a long but silky finish with fine-grained tannins. Keplinger 2019 El Diablo Grenache Russian River Valley – 97 Points

$79.99

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “More subtle and elegant, with slightly less power but possibly more complexity, the 2019 Grenache El Diablo has a beautiful nose of ripe cherry and strawberry fruits as well as herbes de Provence, spring flowers, and baking spices. As seamless as they come on the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a pure, elegant mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. Melville 2020 Pinot Noir “Terraces” Santa Rita Hills 95+ Points

$79.99

Jeb Dunnuck 95+ Points: “Coming from more clay soils as well as a west-facing hillside that gets pounded by the wind, the 2020 Pinot Noir Terraces boasts a deep, concentrated, age-worthy style as well as notes of darker fruits, roasted herbs, graphite, and black tea. This Burgundian, medium-bodied, balanced, structured beauty is well worth seeking out and, I suspect, will be one of the longest-lived in the vintage.

Vinous 95 points: “The 2020 Pinot Noir Terraces is terrific. Dense and vibrant, the Terraces captures the intensity of the year and yet retains notable energy, probably a combination of water-retentive, clay-rich soils and a mix of five clones (Swan, Mt. Eden, 115, 667 and 777) that lends layers and complexity. Red cherry, pomegranate, blood orange and exotic floral notes build into the persistent finish. Drink 2024-2032.”

Carlisle 2019 Mouvèdre Radiant Ridge, Bennett Valley Sonoma 94 Points

$44.99

Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points: “Savory with dried herbs and pine, the 2019 Mouvèdre Radiant Ridge Vineyard is introspective, with black fruit and freshly turned soil, while the palate is stony and mineral. It is full, but surprisingly more focused than the aromatics might suggest. Much more restrained and with a gorgeous texture, this is an incredible expression that is worth seeking out and drinking over the next 15 years”
