Spottswoode 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon “Estate” Napa ~ 100 Points — MAGNUM
$550.00
Robert Parker 100 Points: “Tasted blind, in a lineup that included vintages back to 2010, a barrel sample of Spottswoode’s 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon stood out as being one of the most exciting efforts. Full-bodied, ripe, and rich without being overbearing, it delivers concentrated black cherry and cassis fruit framed by supple, velvety-textured tannins. It’s long on the finish, with an attractively soft, dusty-loamy texture and no overt signs of a fire-troubled Napa vintage.”

It offers a deep purple hue to go with a totally brilliant nose of ripe blackberries, blueberries, ground pepper, game, and violets. Pure class on the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, layered mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. Spectacular juice, it should evolve for a decade.”

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “Darker cherries, black tea, leafy herbs, and sweet spice all emerge from the 2021 Pinot Noir Stand By Me Drum Canyon Vineyard, a layered, medium-bodied Pinot Noir revealing a terrific underlying sense of minerality, a focused, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. It has an age-worthy, nicely structured, balanced style that will benefit from a year or two of bottle age and evolve gracefully through 2031+.”

$229.99
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “A serious looking barrel sample, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard reveals a dense purple color to go with rocking notes of blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, damp earth, and chocolate. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, it has great tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and the class to evolve for 20 years or more..”
Aftermath 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Napa Valley 97 Points
$89.99
FMW 97 Points: This 100% Estate-grown Cabernet (96.3% CS and 3.7% PV), offers up an amazing bouquet of classic dark Cabernet fruit that jumps out of the glass upon impact. This 2019 youngster is lush, full in bodied and surprisingly well-balanced. The wine is multi-layered loaded with gorgeous black currant, dark chocolate, a whiff of anise, cassis and a touch of spice on the opulent palate. Extremely well-balanced and in-sync wine that will please the big Cab lover. This is a killer wine, but unfortunately a very limited production.

Cobb 2018 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch “Swan and Calera” Selection” 97 Points
$95.00
Robert Parker 97 Points: “The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch Swan & Calera Selection is scented of red cherries and cranberries with tones of bitter citrus, tobacco leaves, dried flowers and Angostura bitters. Light-bodied, silty and incredibly fresh, its slim frame holds a surprising amount of pure, crunchy fruits, and it finishes with tremendous length and spicy layers. The Swan clone fruit included in this cuvée comes from vines planted in 1995, and the Calera clones were planted in 2011. It’s another 2018 from the Cobb portfolio that offers both ageability and immediate appeal.”
Patrimony 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 99 Points
$279.99
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Points: “The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon continues to show brilliantly. (I rated it 97-100 from barrel last year.) It has a quintessential Cabernet nose of pure crème de cassis, crushed stone, lead pencil, graphite, and tobacco that gains depth and richness with time in the glass. Deep, full-bodied, rich, and incredibly textured, yet still fresh, light on its feet, and beautifully balanced, this gorgeous Cabernet shows what’s possible with the variety from Paso Robles.”
