Paul Lato 2021 “Stand by Me” Pinot Noir, Drum Canyon Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills 97 Points
$99.99
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “Darker cherries, black tea, leafy herbs, and sweet spice all emerge from the 2021 Pinot Noir Stand By Me Drum Canyon Vineyard, a layered, medium-bodied Pinot Noir revealing a terrific underlying sense of minerality, a focused, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. It has an age-worthy, nicely structured, balanced style that will benefit from a year or two of bottle age and evolve gracefully through 2031+.”

Carlisle 2019 Mouvèdre Radiant Ridge, Bennett Valley Sonoma 94 Points
$49.99 $44.99
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points: “Savory with dried herbs and pine, the 2019 Mouvèdre Radiant Ridge Vineyard is introspective, with black fruit and freshly turned soil, while the palate is stony and mineral. It is full, but surprisingly more focused than the aromatics might suggest. Much more restrained and with a gorgeous texture, this is an incredible expression that is worth seeking out and drinking over the next 15 years”
Fait-Main 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon “Sleeping Lady” Bettinelli – 97 Points
$224.99 $174.99
Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “From a terrific vineyard on the west side of Yountville, and one I suspect will be more well known in the future due to the quality of the farming, the 100% Cabernet 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Bettinelli Sleeping Lady is a pretty, elegant yet full-bodied beauty that has terrific notes of blue fruits, violets, bay leaf, and damp earth. It has an almost mountain fruit-like tension and purity, fine tannins, and a great finish. In short, it’s a thrilling Napa Valley Cabernet that’s going to keep for 25 years or more.”
Aftermath 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Napa Valley 97 Points
$89.99
FMW 97 Points: This 100% Estate-grown Cabernet (96.3% CS and 3.7% PV), offers up an amazing bouquet of classic dark Cabernet fruit that jumps out of the glass upon impact. This 2019 youngster is lush, full in bodied and surprisingly well-balanced. The wine is multi-layered loaded with gorgeous black currant, dark chocolate, a whiff of anise, cassis and a touch of spice on the opulent palate. Extremely well-balanced and in-sync wine that will please the big Cab lover. This is a killer wine, but unfortunately a very limited production.

This beauty has a killer bouquet of cassis, spring flowers, graphite, chalky minerality, and violets. This carries to a full-bodied, seamless, silky, flawlessly balanced effort revealing fine tannins, a good sense of freshness, and a thrilling finish.”
Bevan 2021 Tench EE Proprietary Red Napa Valley ~ 99 Points
$225.00 $214.99
Jeb Dunnuck 99 Points: “The 2021 EE Red Wine is ripe and powerful, with smoky red and black fruits as well as lots of background oak, graphite, espresso, and dark chocolate-like aromas and flavors that develop beautifully with time in the glass. Deep, rich, full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, it has plenty of background oak, the building tannins of the vintage, and a great finish. A gorgeous wine, it will benefit from 3-4 years in the cellar and evolve for 25-30 years in cold cellars. The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Cabernet Franc brought up in new barrels.”

Paul Lato 2021 “Suerte” Pinot Noir, Solomon Hills Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley 95 Points
$100.00
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points: “I always love Lato’s Pinot Noir from this site, and his 2021 Pinot Noir Suerte Solomon Hills Vineyard is no exception. Revealing a ruby hue as well as gorgeous notes of wild strawberries, black tea, toasted spice, and exotic flowers, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a round, layered, supple texture, integrated tannins, and outstanding length. Drink this more up-front, fruit-loaded, gorgeous Pinot Noir over the coming 5-7 years.”

DuMOL 2021 Pinot Noir “Wester Reach” Russian River Valley 95 Points
$85.00
James Suckling 95 Points: “A wine with a lot of back end, with dark fruits of blackberry and cherry. Ripe strawberry. Hints of toasted oak and smoke. It’s full and layered with very firm and polished tannins. Very serious and real, and shows the structure of the vintage. Some chocolate. Strawberry pie, too. Drinkable but two to three years of age will help it”

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “More subtle and elegant, with slightly less power but possibly more complexity, the 2019 Grenache El Diablo has a beautiful nose of ripe cherry and strawberry fruits as well as herbes de Provence, spring flowers, and baking spices. As seamless as they come on the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, has a pure, elegant mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It’s another heavenly Grenache from this talented winemaker that readers will love. It too should keep for a decade.”

Walter Hansel 2021 Chardonnay “North Slope” Russian River Valley 94 Points
$44.99
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points: “A very attractive and floral perfume cascades from the glass of the 2021 Chardonnay The North Slope Vineyard. Displaying a bright yellow-golden color, it leads with notes of honeycomb, melon, incense, and lemon rind, and although it’s full-bodied, it reveals a more linear and elegant profile on the palate, with a silky texture and a mineral accent of wet asphalt. It’s a very pretty style of white with a graceful and savory finish. Drink 2024-2030.”
