This is the twenty-ninth vintage of SOLITUDE Chardonnay. Over this period the wine has developed a reputation for consistency and value. As always the grapes came from four ranches within the Sangiacomo Family Vineyards just south of the Town of Sonoma. This wine exhibits the classic character of the Carneros. Tropical fruit, ripe pear and coconut aromas are complimented by a seamless integrated mouth feel and a long-lasting smooth finish.
The wine is yellow straw in color. It possesses appealing aromas of vanilla crème, ripe apple and toasty new oak. The wine is nicely balanced and has a pleasing bouquet with an elegant and subtle long-flavored finish. Winemaking protocol includes full barrel fermentation, weekly stirring and secondary malo-lactic fermentation to increase complexity and richness.
