Winery Notes: “As a result of our training in Burgundy, we seek a connection between the classic wines from the heart of France and the wines of California. Our production remains limited since, like the Grand Cru vineyards of Burgundy, it is rare to find sites that express a sense of place and varietal precision. In the case of Chardonnay, we apply traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques to allow the single vineyard Russian River grapes to show their origins clearly. Pont Neuf distinguishes itself with finesse, complexity, and depth of flavor. With complex layers of aromas and flavors, we make precise, finely nuanced, savory, and gracious wines at the table. We make wines for the cellar that age gracefully, giving pleasure at every stage of their evolution.”
Tasting Notes: Gorgeous and bright colors of magenta, and deep brooding Ruby red in the glass. The wine offers an assertive yet intricately perfumed nose, with a hint of bright cassis, red fruits, and Sous Bois jumping out of the glass. The wine is lush, yet silky, with highly perfumed flavors of red stone fruit, and hints of creme de cassis, and raspberry fruit. The wine is well-balanced, with a stunning texture and weight., which leads to a long silky-grained finish. This is a find!
Sourced from the Martinelli Zio Tony vineyard. Only 50 cases (2 barrels) were produced!
