Gemstone 2018 “Heritage Selection” Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 95 Points

$144.99

Vinous 95 Points: “The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage Selection, from the back part of the property, is plump, juicy, and full of character. Inky dark fruit, mocha, floral notes and spice. All the elements come together so nicely. Picking a bit earlier than in the past helps preserve freshness as well as energy. Time in the glass brings out the wine’s volume and resonance. The juicy, creamy style works well here. Inky dark red/purplish fruit, spice, rose petal, and new leather builds into the resonant finish. I find a bit better balance here than in the Alluvial Selection.

Melville 2020 Pinot Noir “Terraces” Santa Rita Hills 95+ Points

$79.99

Jeb Dunnuck 95+ Points: “Coming from more clay soils as well as a west-facing hillside that gets pounded by the wind, the 2020 Pinot Noir Terraces boasts a deep, concentrated, age-worthy style as well as notes of darker fruits, roasted herbs, graphite, and black tea. This Burgundian, medium-bodied, balanced, structured beauty is well worth seeking out and, I suspect, will be one of the longest-lived in the vintage.

Vinous 95 points: “The 2020 Pinot Noir Terraces is terrific. Dense and vibrant, the Terraces captures the intensity of the year and yet retains notable energy, probably a combination of water-retentive, clay-rich soils and a mix of five clones (Swan, Mt. Eden, 115, 667 and 777) that lends layers and complexity. Red cherry, pomegranate, blood orange and exotic floral notes build into the persistent finish. Drink 2024-2032.”

Cobb 2019 Pinot Noir Rice Spivak Sonoma Coast 97+ Points

$99.99

Robert Parker 97+ Points: “The 2019 Pinot Noir Rice Spivak Vineyard was made with about 40% whole clusters and matured for 22 months in 40% new French oak. It has a medium ruby color and pure aromas of cranberries, raspberries and rhubarb—those dark red fruit characteristics of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir in the 2019 vintage—plus accents of orange peel, Angostura bitters, moss and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate manages a slender frame and very intense flavors, supported by an abundance of silty tannins and juicy acidity driving the very long, very layered finish.”

Jonata 2020 Cabernet Franc “El Alma ” Estate, Ballard Canyon 98 Points

$199.99

Vinous 98 Points: “The 2020 El Alma de Jonata’s Cabernet Franc-based wine, is ridiculously great. The Franc is way up in 2020, and that results in a heady, explosive red that takes command of all that senses as it demands full attention. An exotic melange of dark red fruit, wildflowers, mocha, spice, and new leather build as the 2020 gains volume and resonance with air, with plenty of supporting structure to wrap it all together. It’s one of the greatest Bordeaux wines I have tasted in Santa Barabar. Wow!!”

Fait-Main 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon “Sleeping Lady” Bettinelli – 97 Points

$174.99

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “From a terrific vineyard on the west side of Yountville, and one I suspect will be more well known in the future due to the quality of the farming, the 100% Cabernet 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Bettinelli Sleeping Lady is a pretty, elegant yet full-bodied beauty that has terrific notes of blue fruits, violets, bay leaf, and damp earth. It has an almost mountain fruit-like tension and purity, fine tannins, and a great finish. In short, it’s a thrilling Napa Valley Cabernet that’s going to keep for 25 years or more.”

Anthony Galloni – Vinous 93 Points:  “The 2018 Red Wine Columbia Valley combines Syrah (70%) with Grenache (30%). The palate is wonderfully stony with bright red fruits that mingle with orange rind, umami, and pretty pomegranate seed flavors. The salty accents really make this sing. “

Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points: “The 2019 Pinot Noir Mount Carmel Vineyard is more floral and exotic, with a thrilling core of black raspberry and wild strawberry fruits supported by candied orange, violet, flowery incense, and assorted spices. These all carry to a vibrant, medium-bodied Pinot Noir with a classic, focused spine of acidity, a more rounded mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s another gorgeous wine. $130.00

Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points: “Lastly, the 2018 Pinot Noir The Coast saw the standard complete destemming and spent 10 months in 50% new French oak. It shows a killer bouquet of sweet black raspberry fruits as well as baking spices, forest floor, licorice, and darker, earthy notes. With full-bodied richness, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish, it’s a step up over the 2017 (and the 2016) and is going to impress for a solid 10-12 years. “

Walter Hansel 2021 Pinot Noir “Cuvée Alyce” Russian River Valley – 95 Points

$49.95

Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points: “Dark and enveloping, the 2021 Pinot Noir Cuvée Alyce is the richest offering in this lineup. Pouring a deep red/purple, it’s saturated with aromas of boysenberry liqueur, lavender, cedar, and licorice. Ample and full-bodied, it remains light on its feet, with mouthwatering lift, well-integrated, ripe tannins, and smoky incense on the back palate. Give it another year or two to shed its considerable baby fat and drink 2025-2035.”

$95.00

Robert Parker 97 Points: “The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch Swan & Calera Selection is scented of red cherries and cranberries with tones of bitter citrus, tobacco leaves, dried flowers and Angostura bitters. Light-bodied, silty and incredibly fresh, its slim frame holds a surprising amount of pure, crunchy fruits, and it finishes with tremendous length and spicy layers. The Swan clone fruit included in this cuvée comes from vines planted in 1995, and the Calera clones were planted in 2011. It’s another 2018 from the Cobb portfolio that offers both ageability and immediate appeal.”

Tyler 2019 Mae Estate Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills 97 Points

$74.99

Robert Parker 97 Points: “Mae Estate is brand new cuvée from Tyler. “This place came on the market in 2014,” explains winemaker Justin Tyler Willett. “We had contemplated buying a place, so we will break ground here in 2022 on a new winery.” Located in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation on marine sediment soils, the Mae Estate will become the new home for Tyler wines. The 2019 Chardonnay Mae Estate is a beautiful first iteration.
