Winemaker Mike Smith’s Notes: “The 2021 vintage was a tremendous year to produce wine in the Napa Valley, and it was especially kind to our old vine Sauvignon Blanc. In the glass the wine shimmers with glistening straw hues and offers a beautiful perfume of white flowers, ripe stone fruit, and clementine. Aged in French oak barrels, enhancing the texture and layers of flavor, the wine exhibits a racy acidity followed by ripe pineapple, apricot, beeswax, and honeydew melon that all harmoniously coexist on the palate. A rich and full-bodied mouthfeel flows into an extended finish with accents of fresh citrus, creamy white peach, and lightly crushed stone. It will drink nicely in the summer months to come, and can be aged for 3-5 years, if not longer, to bring out underlying complexities. The only downside is that only 113 cases were produced!
