Nid Tissé 2022 Pinot Noir “Radian Vineyard” Santa Rita Hills 97 Points

$84.99

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “The 2022 Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard is also off-the-hook good and shows the talent of this winemaker with reds as well as whites. Black raspberries, crushed stone, pressed flowers, and some background black tea notes all define the aromatics, and it’s medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Coming all from the Radian Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills, all destemmed, and aged 12 months in 18% new oak, it’s going to deliver the goods for 7-8 years at a minimum.”

Carte Blanche 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer , Napa Valley – 97+Points

$179.99

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “Winemaker Helen Keplinger came here in 2014 and has consistently been making beautiful wines. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard offers a pretty, medium to full-bodied, more elegant style as well as a terrific array of red, blue, and black fruits supported by floral and violet notes. It has perfectly integrated background oak, fine, polished tannins, and a great finish. It’s incredibly impressive, and while it already has some appeal, it’s going to evolve for 20 years in cold cellars.”

Vinous 97+ Points: “The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper is a total dream. Sumptuous and racy with notes of blackberry jam, cloves, menthol, licorice and chocolate. The blend of three blocks and three clones (4, 144, and 337) is so complementary. The 2021 is magnificent. An archetype of modern Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 is super elegant, polished, and refined from start to finish, What a Knockout.”

Scarecrow 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon JJ Cohn Estate, Napa Valley 100 Points

$999.00

Jeb Dunnuck 100 Points: “Moving to the Grand Vin 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, red wine simply doesn’t get any better, and I never cease to be amazed at what winemaker Celia Welch accomplishes with this incredible terroir. Deep ruby/plum-hued, with a kaleidoscope-like array of cr me de cassis, jammy blackberries, spicy oak, graphite, and smoked tobacco, with a kiss of background chocolaty nuances, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a multi-dimensional, layered mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a flawlessly layered, concentrated, balanced profile that has to be tasted to be believed. Given its wealth of fruit and texture, as well as purity and balance, it already offers pleasure, yet smart money will give bottles 4-6 years in the cellar, count themselves lucky, and enjoy bottles over the following two decades.”

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “Brought up in more new French oak (90%), the 2019 Syrah Indigo is inky purple-hued and gives up a killer bouquet of blackberries, beef blood, bay leaf, iron, peppery herbs, and bacon fat. It’s rich, full-bodied, and concentrated on the palate, with a dense, rich, powerful, yet also focused style that stays graceful and elegant. This is a gorgeous Syrah in every way that should have 10-15 years of prime drinking.”

The Hilt 2021 Pinot Noir “Radian Vineyard” Santa Rita Hills 97 Points

$104.99

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “I loved the 2021 Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard, which has a vivid, perfumed, exotic bouquet of black raspberries, spring flowers, violets, graphite, and chalky minerality. I love its purity, and it’s medium-bodied, with an incredible sense of refinement and class and a great finish. Coming from a rocky hillside vineyard on the southern side of the Sta. Rita Hills, this incredible Pinot Noir will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise in cold cellars over the following decade or more.”

Vinous 97 Points: “A bright, nervy wine, the 2021 Pinot Noir Radian captures all the natural intensity of this site on the far edge of the Sta. Rita Hills. Bright acids and veins of minerality infuse the 2021 with tremendous character. Dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, crushed rocks, graphite, and dried herbs are some of the many notes that race across the palate. This just sizzles with energy. It’s a great example from the western edge of the appellation.”

Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points:  “The 2009 Blanc de Blancs Millésimé Grand Cru Le Mesnil Sur Oger is terrific as well. Boars View 2018 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 95 Points

$130.00

Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points: “Lastly, the 2018 Pinot Noir The Coast saw the standard complete destemming and spent 10 months in 50% new French oak. It shows a killer bouquet of sweet black raspberry fruits as well as baking spices, forest floor, licorice, and darker, earthy notes. With full-bodied richness, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish, it’s a step up over the 2017 (and the 2016) and is going to impress for a solid 10-12 years. “

Rocket Science by Caldwell 2021 Proprietary Red Napa Valley

$79.99

Winemaker Notes: “The only sure way to know you’ve got a supernova in your sights is to do a diagnostic… fragrant spices, explosive fruit, finish like a long-tail comet… check. This high-octane vintage draws you in with inviting aromas of raspberry, plum, anise, and rose petals lighting up the red spectrum. Cocoa, leather, and fresh black tea fill in the darker side. Fluid dynamics take over with a full-throttle cherry attack. Mellow, sweet tannins carry the day while this wine’s long, pomegranate finish streaks across the sky with nothing to stop it but another sip.”

Cornell 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Sonoma 97+ Points

$189.99

Vinous 97+ Points: The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is super-elegant and refined, but also somewhat closed following its bottling, which is not uncommon for mountain wines. That period of stubbornness seems to be part of the evolution here, as the wine tends to only blossom after a few years. Today, the 2019 is marked by its brilliant upper register, striking balance and vibrancy. It is another compelling wine from Cornell.”

As usual, it’s a more approachable, polished Syrah compared to the Bien Nacido release. Drink bottles any time over the coming decade.”

Billecart Salmon 2009 Extra Brut Champagne 95 Points

$109.99

Robert Parker 95 Points: “Disgorged with two grams per liter dosage, Billecart-Salmon’s 2009 Extra Brut Vintage is more giving and demonstrative than its 2008 counterpart, offering up inviting aromas of crisp stone fruit, yellow apple, brioche, honeycomb, and warm pastry. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a pillowy mousse and a generous core of fruit girdled by bright acids, it’s seamless and complete. Indeed, such is its charm and persistence that I tend to prefer it, at least for now, to the 2008.”

Tyler 2019 Mae Estate Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills 97 Points

$74.99

Robert Parker 97 Points: “Mae Estate is brand new cuvée from Tyler. “This place came on the market in 2014,” explains winemaker Justin Tyler Willett. “We had contemplated buying a place, so we will break ground here in 2022 on a new winery.” Located in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation on marine sediment soils, the Mae Estate will become the new home for Tyler wines. The 2019 Chardonnay Mae Estate is a beautiful first iteration. The nose features creamy panna cotta, lemon peel and pastry aromas streaked with sweet spice, and the palate has a unique satiny texture that coats the mouth and draws out its plush, creamy citrus and apricot layers. Hendry 2018 Bordeaux Blend “Red” Estate Napa Valley 95 Points

$49.99

FMW 95 Points: “Dazzling black stone fruit and chocolate aromas jump out of the glass on impact.   This Bordeaux blend offers deep dark color, with intense aromatics and concentration. The fruit is 100%  sourced from the Hendry Estate in the Napa Valley.  This Cabernet-based blend is concentrated, powerful, yet silky smooth, with a lush and creamy texture on the mid-palate offering up cacao, blueberries, and anise flavors, and its loaded flavors show intense depth,  that leads to a long but silky finish with fine-grained tannins. This wine is drinking well now and should do so for a decade.

Gemstone 2018 “Heritage Selection” Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 95 Points

$144.99

Vinous 95 Points: “The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Heritage Selection, from the back part of the property, is plump, juicy, and full of character. Inky dark fruit, mocha, floral notes and spice. All the elements come together so nicely. Picking a bit earlier than in the past helps preserve freshness as well as energy. Time in the glass brings out the wine’s volume and resonance. The juicy, creamy style works well here. Inky dark red/purplish fruit, spice, rose petal, and new leather builds into the resonant finish. I find a bit better balance here than in the Alluvial Selection.
