Winery Notes: “This vintage expresses a powerhouse summation of its parts, with fruit selected from some of the finest vineyards found throughout Napa Valley. The wine exhibits a completely opaque dark purple hue. Luxurious aromas suggest layered notes of clove, pomegranate, fir, and macerated blueberry. The palate experience has mouth-saturating dark fruit density and a silky tannin frame with notes of dark chocolate and raspberry seed on the periphery. Supple, plush, and round, this wine is showing well now.
WP 95 Points: “The 2021 Mending Wall shows off a purple color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, crushed gravel, slight cedar, and spice. Full-bodied. Firm tannins. Great texture. On the palate, there is juicy cassis fruit with some underlying gravel, char, and some spice. Long finish. Of course, this is very young. Cellar for a few more years and then drink for ten to fifteen after that. Great on its own, it will become more food-friendly as it ages. If drinking soon, go with bigger (and fatty) foods.”
