Winemaker Notes: “Our historic blend of the Hudson and Hyde vineyards shows the classic tangerine oil and crème brûlée richness of aroma over intense marzipan and nectarine flavors. The palate is broad, but still well-mannered. The finish is long and positively saline–dare we say “minerality?” Back when Robert Parker was visiting, he called this the Bâtard-Montrachet of Napa.”
FMW 97 Points: “This is probably one of John & Alex Kongsggard’s best Hyde/Hudson-sourced Chardonnays ever. Bold, creamy, and rich in texture, yet showing restraint and offering elegance, well-balanced fruit-to-acid ratios. On the mid-palate bold fruit, a combination of Fiji apple, Anjou pear, and tropical flavors with remarkable smoothness and richness. Extremely well-polished and long finish. A truly enjoyable Chardonnay, you might confuse with some of the better white Burgundies.”
