Vinous 94 Points: “The 2018 Pinot Noir Estate East Ridge is juicy, open-knit and seductive. Sweet red cherry, red plum, spice, mint and blood orange infuse the 2018 with tons of nuance and character. In this tasting, the East Ridge stands out for its mid-palate density and creaminess, along with slightly darker/purplish tonalities of fruit.”
Wine Enthusiast 94 Points: “Structured and wildly complex, this wine is just starting to reveal itself, offering a quiet wealth of juicy pomegranate, black tea and rocky tannin. Textured, it is both savory in nature and bursting in acidity, providing a lengthy freshness as it goes. Still, time in the cellar is recommended; enjoy best from 2025–2028”
Winery Notes: ” The East Ridge Estate Pinot Noir is produced from some of the oldest and finest vines at Hirsch. Exceptionally low-yielding, they produce a structured and powerful wine, with fantastic concentration and fruit. The 2018 vintage is true to this expression, with a notably sappy, intensely fruited quality. This combination of low vigor and low yields results in a wine of dark-fruited concentration tempered by elegance and naturally low alcohol. The East Ridge Pinot Noir is one of our most cellar-worthy wines. “
