Vinous 94 Points: “The 2019 Ryo-Fu shows why this vintage is so magical for Chardonnay. Tangerine peel, mint, spice and tropical accents all soar out of the glass. The blend is 50% Charles Heintz, 27% Searby, 23% Keefer Ranch with the characteristic exotic nuances from Heintz really driving the flavor profile. The 2019 is rich and heady, yet retains terrific energy. It’s a gorgeous wine and a terrific value in the world of high-end artisanal Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.
Robert Parker 94 Points: “The 2019 Chardonnay Ryo-fu offers bright, fresh apples, pears and peaches with notes of baker’s yeast, nuts and white flowers. The palate is silky and expansive with honey-toned fruits and a juicy finish laced with floral perfume.”
Winemaker notes: “The subtle nose of the 2019 Ryo-fu combines elements of Gravenstein apples, nutmeg and lemon zest. An equally subtle palate follows, with a soft, lush and seamless texture, full of gorgeous stone fruit flavors. Moderate acidity stays in the background, but comes on strong in the long finish. Expect this wine to be at its best from mid-2021 through 2025. If you plan to open it soon, be sure to give it plenty of air to enhance its pretty aromas. “
