Maybach 2019 Amoenus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 99 Points

$194.99

Jeb Dunnuck 99 Points:  “First made in 2009 (the first vintage of Maybach was in 2004), the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus offers an incredible, full-bodied, pure, seamless style, and I suspect this is the finest vintage of this cuvée ever made. Gorgeous red and black fruits, toasted spice, brioche, violets, and flowers are just some of the nuances here, and it’s one of those wines that brings massive richness and depth while staying pure, seamless, and as graceful as they come. Don’t miss it!”

Aston 2019 Pinot Noir X Estate, Sonoma Coast 95 Points

$79.99

Wine Spectator 95 Points: “Boasts abundant zesty, energetic, and bramble-laced mulberry, plum, and açaí berry flavors, while hints of melted licorice, chaparral, and apple wood fill in through the finish. Broad, rich, and defined, with a flurry of fruit and licorice snap echoing at the very end. Distinctive. Drink now through 2034. 900 cases made.”

Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points: “My favorite of the trio, the 2019 Pinot Noir X Label has slightly more purity and finesse in its aromas and flavors as well as a medium-bodied, silky style on the palate. Lots of mulled red and blue fruits, peppery herbs, forest floor, and spicy nuances make up the bouquet, and it’s beautifully pure, layered, and seamless on the palate. This is another complex, singular wine from this estate that can be enjoyed any time over the coming decade.”

Jonata 2020 Cabernet Franc “El Alma ” Estate, Ballard Canyon 98 Points

$199.99

Vinous 98 Points: “The 2020 El Alma de Jonata’s Cabernet Franc-based wine, is ridiculously great. The Franc is way up in 2020, and that results in a heady, explosive red that takes command of all that senses as it demands full attention. An exotic melange of dark red fruit, wildflowers, mocha, spice, and new leather build as the 2020 gains volume and resonance with air, with plenty of supporting structure to wrap it all together. It’s one of the greatest Bordeaux wines I have tasted in Santa Barabar. Wow!!”

$129.99

TWI 97 Points: “The 2021 Chardonnay AK Cuvee needs a shake or two to cause an eruption of nectarines, yellow apples, and Bosc pears with underlying hints of kumquat, lime leaves, and almond croissant. The medium to full-bodied palate is profound, savory, and beautifully poised, with a satiny texture and long, savory finish.”

Continuum 2021 Bordeaux Blend Sage Mountain Vineyard, Napa 99 Points

$349.95

TWI 98-100 Points: ““This note is written before the final blend of the 2021 Continuum. Deep purple-black in color, it hits the ground running with an intense nose of red and black currant preserves, lilacs, baker’s chocolate, and graphite, leading to an undercurrent of black olives and red loam. On the medium to full-bodied palate it is very lively, grainy and super-concentrated, finishing long and shimmery.”

Tyler 2019 Mae Estate Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills 97 Points

$74.99

Robert Parker 97 Points: “Mae Estate is brand new cuvée from Tyler. “This place came on the market in 2014,” explains winemaker Justin Tyler Willett. “We had contemplated buying a place, so we will break ground here in 2022 on a new winery.” Located in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation on marine sediment soils, the Mae Estate will become the new home for Tyler wines. The 2019 Chardonnay Mae Estate is a beautiful first iteration. The nose features creamy panna cotta, lemon peel and pastry aromas streaked with sweet spice, and the palate has a unique satiny texture that coats the mouth and draws out its plush, creamy citrus and apricot layers. $224.99

Jeb Dunnuck 99 Points: “Next up, the 2018 La Magalena comes from the Oakville Ranch Vineyard and in 2018 is a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Incredible notes of crème de cassis, blueberries, tobacco leaf, violets, and spring flowers all emerge from this beauty, and it hits the palate with flawless balance, full-bodied richness, a great, great mid-palate, and a finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. Probably a candidate for perfection in 5-7 years, this is a magical Bordeaux blend from an incredible terroir as well as a great winemaker. Pulido Walker 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder, Napa 99 Points

$259.99

Jeb Dunnuck 99 Points: “A bigger, richer, more structured wine, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder Estate Vineyard has brilliant black fruits, tobacco, iron, and subtle smoke-like nuances in a full-bodied, concentrated, layered package. This is pure Mountain Cabernet genius, and while it’s far from unapproachable today, it will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age. The Hilt 2021 Pinot Noir “Radian Vineyard” Santa Rita Hills 97 Points

$104.99

Jeb Dunnuck 97 Points: “I loved the 2021 Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard, which has a vivid, perfumed, exotic bouquet of black raspberries, spring flowers, violets, graphite, and chalky minerality. I love its purity, and it’s medium-bodied, with an incredible sense of refinement and class and a great finish. Coming from a rocky hillside vineyard on the southern side of the Sta. Rita Hills, this incredible Pinot Noir will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise in cold cellars over the following decade or more.”

Vinous 97 Points: “A bright, nervy wine, the 2021 Pinot Noir Radian captures all the natural intensity of this site on the far edge of the Sta. Rita Hills. Bright acids and veins of minerality infuse the 2021 with tremendous character. Dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, crushed rocks, graphite, and dried herbs are some of the many notes that race across the palate. This just sizzles with energy. It’s a great example from the western edge of the appellation.”
