Deep garnet-purple in color, it comes bounding out of the glass with exuberant notes of redcurrant jelly, cassis, and boysenberries, plus hints of cardamom, bouquet garni, red roses, and lavender. Full-bodied, the palate is laden with vibrant black fruits accented by red fruit sparks, supported by firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and perfumed.”
Andy Erickson Winemaker: “The wine is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. A dark, black fruit core resides at the heart of the wine, surrounded by ethereal notes of herbs, spices, and flowers. Ripe blackberries, kirsch, and red cherries drive the flavor profile. On the nose, exotic notes of cardamom, cumin, and anise are supported by aromas of dried flowers and sage. This is a deeply layered wine, with finely toned muscle and impressive balance. Its freshness today bodes well for a long future in the cellar.”
