Toymaker 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 99 Points
$349.99
TWI 99 Points: “The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of black cherries, blackberries, and blackcurrant jelly spill from the glass, followed by an evocative perfume of black raspberries, red roses, lavender, and cinnamon sticks. The full-bodied palate is taut with muscular, intense fruit, framed by firm, finely-grained tannins and just enough tension, finishing long and graceful. This tiny production (195 cases) of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is made by the very talented Martha McClellan (who also makes Sloan) and it is simply gorgeous!”

Cobb 2018 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch “Swan and Calera” Selection” 97 Points
$95.00
Robert Parker 97 Points: “The 2018 Pinot Noir Doc’s Ranch Swan & Calera Selection is scented of red cherries and cranberries with tones of bitter citrus, tobacco leaves, dried flowers and Angostura bitters. Light-bodied, silty and incredibly fresh, its slim frame holds a surprising amount of pure, crunchy fruits, and it finishes with tremendous length and spicy layers. The Swan clone fruit included in this cuvée comes from vines planted in 1995, and the Calera clones were planted in 2011. It’s another 2018 from the Cobb portfolio that offers both ageability and immediate appeal.”

Cobb 2019 Pinot Noir Rice Spivak Sonoma Coast 97+ Points
$99.99
Robert Parker 97+ Points: “The 2019 Pinot Noir Rice Spivak Vineyard was made with about 40% whole clusters and matured for 22 months in 40% new French oak. It has a medium ruby color and pure aromas of cranberries, raspberries and rhubarb—those dark red fruit characteristics of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir in the 2019 vintage—plus accents of orange peel, Angostura bitters, moss and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate manages a slender frame and very intense flavors, supported by an abundance of silty tannins and juicy acidity driving the very long, very layered finish.”

La Sirena 2021 Chardonnay, Russian River Valley 96 Points
$79.99
FMW 96 Points: “The 2021 La Sirena Chardonnay, Russian River offers up flinty and bright fruit aromatics. This lush, full-bodied wine showcases an elegant body loaded withs pure fruit, lime zest, green apple, umami richness, and a whiff of minearlity. The wine offers both power and elegance. Bright, freshly styled crushed white flowers, more apple fruit and a touch of toasty vanilla are a nice crescendo for this great youngster’s long finish.

The Walls 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon “Curiositas“ Red Mountain, Washington 96 Points
$89.99 $79.95
96 Points Jeb Dunnuck: Coming from Red Mountain and 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Cabernet Franc brought up in 80% new French oak, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Curiositas offers more red and black fruits to go with classic Red Mountain minerality, notes of graphite and tobacco, full-bodied richness, and building, firm, yet ripe tannins. It’s going to need 3-5 years of bottle age, but it’s a classic expression of this terroir.

Pisoni 2021 Estate Chardonnay, Santa Lucia Highlands 96+ Points
$105.00 $94.99
Jeb Dunnuck 96+ Points: “Another brilliant wine from this family, the 2021 Chardonnay comes all from the estate Pisoni Vineyard in the southern part of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Unfortunately, it’s made in tiny quantities, but I consistently think it ranks with the finest Chardonnay in California. Honeyed lemon, pear, flowers, crushed stone, and a beautiful kiss of toasted walnuts define the aromatics, and it’s medium-bodied, vibrant, and elegant, with a liquid rock-like sense of minerality on the finish. It plays in the more elegant, focused, lengthy style of the vintage and is slightly closed and tight at present. Give bottles another 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy through 2031. It’s a beautiful Chardonnay.”

Switchback Ridge 2019 Merlot “Estate” Napa Valley 93 Points
$69.99 $67.99
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points: “A stunning value, the 2019 Merlot Peterson Family Vineyard offers a round, layered, incredibly sexy and seamless style to go with classic Merlot ripe black cherries, pipe tobacco, chocolate, and roasted herb-like aromas and flavors. There’s 9% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, and it was raised in 75% new French oak. I’d be thrilled to drink a glass any time over the coming 10-15 years.”
