Vinous 95 Points: “The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a total knock-out. Winemaker Danielle Cyrot has done a tremendous job taming the Howell Mountain tannins. There is still plenty of power and structure, but all the elements are so well balanced here. Inky dark red fruit, iron, new leather, blood orange, spice, a kiss of new French oak and game build in an opulent, brooding Cabernet loaded with personality.”
Jed Dunnuck 94 Points : “Starting with the base 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Petit Verdot, it has a wonderful Cabernet nose of blackcurrants, tobacco, chocolate, cedar, and a touch of earth. Also gorgeous on the palate, it’s full-bodied and has a ripe, plush, sexy texture, no hard edges, integrated oak, and a great finish. I’d be thrilled to drink bottles any time over the coming 10-15 years!”
Robert Parker 93 Points: “The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it sashays out of the glass with flamboyant scents of blueberry compote, Black Forest cake, preserved plums and blackcurrant jelly plus hints of Chinese five spice, violets and incense. The full-bodied palate is packed with juicy black and blue fruit with loads spice and floral accents and a plush texture, finishing long and perfumed..”
Winery Notes: “The CADE Howell Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of blueberry, blackberry, coco nibs, cran-raspberry, roasted coffee, clove, cinnamon, black pepper, mint, and fruit leather. The wine has a velvety texture with lush and prominent tannins and bright acidity. There are flavors of boysenberry, blueberry pie, red cherry, cola, vanilla, graham cracker, and chocolate truffles. Blend: 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petit Verdot”
