Arnot-Roberts 2020 Kirschenmann Vineyard Zinfandel

The Kirschenmann vineyard site is located on an oxbow of the Mokelumne River just outside the tiny hamlet of Victor, California. The vineyard was planted in 1915 on its own roots and is primarily Zinfandel, with a few vines of Carignane, Cinsault and Mondeuse Noir spread throughout the block.

Notes: This own rooted old vine zinfandel (planted in 1915) is dry farmed and has such an incredibly lovely aromatic nose filled witty brambly berries and a savory spice. The 2020 vintage is wonderfully balanced and fleshy, with elegant briary black fruits and a spicy acidity. .
