Jeb Dunnuck 98 Points: “Few out there do this variety better than Jim Binns, and the 2019 Mourvedre is stunning stuff, offering classic smoked meats, iron, ground pepper, kirsch, and darker fruits. I love its tannins, it’s full-bodied, and has richness with no sensation of weight or heaviness, followed by a great finish. The blend is 81% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah, and 1% Viognier that saw lots of stems (75%) and will spend 21 months in 50% new wood.”
Robert Parker 98-100 Points: “Opaque purple-black, it slowly unfurls in the glass to reveal tantalizing scents of prunes, boysenberry preserves, crushed blackberries and espresso with hints of roasted nuts, aniseed, black truffles and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, the palate is solidly constructed of firm yet wonderfully ripe tannins and alluring freshness lifting the densely packed layers to and epically long, fantastically earthy finish. Spectacular Mourvedre!
