Tasting Notes: A fruit-powered wine, this is loaded with apple, melon and pear, and dusted with a dash of white pepper. A suggestion of fresh tarragon adds depth, though taken as a whole it’s a wide-open, generous wine that should be enjoyed over the next couple of years.
Winery Notes: “This Pinot Gris is selected from a mix of different sites across the Willamette Valley. Alexana use two acres-worth of their own Pinot Gris located in one of the warmer pockets of their site blended with two other Pinot Gris from much cooler sites within the Valley, one of which being the oldest Pinot Gris in the State. This creates a beautifully textured and well balanced wine that shows off the potential of this underrated variety.. The fruit for this wine is double hand-sorted and the juice is pressed off whole cluster. We ferment the juice fully and allow the finished wine to sit on the lees stirring every two weeks extracting further flavor and texture. On the nose, notes of fig and red apple. On the palate, rich & rounded flavors present themselves with melon & citrus notes. “
